You have to choose between two different types of resin hard or soft. As far as long term use goes, hard resin is the best choice as it does last longer than soft resin, however, it’s not very flexible. A soft resin not only flexible it’s much better at absorbing the pressure in your mouth which is caused by chewing. The only downside is that it does not last very long and you would have to have it replaced every few months or so. Soft reline seems to be extremely popular with patients who find it very hard to adapt to hard reliners. Most Dentists prefer to use hard resin because it is lasting, but you should let your dentist know if you would prefer a soft reliner instead.

You might ask what does the denture relining procedure entail? This procedure may take about 30 min – 1 hour. You can take your dentures with you as soon as they’re done. It starts with your dentist cleaning your dentures before removing small amounts of material from them. This material is the part that usually rests upon the gums. Application of the hard or soft resin is then done inside of the denture to reline it. The next step is to have you place the denture back into your mouth. After the impression is made and as it hardens it tightens which results in a much better fit in your dentures than before.
